Nexus One’s name was taken because of the unusual sales model (sell online) that Google adopted :

The Top 40 iPhone Apps of 2010 & 2011

The iTunes App Store is huge. More than 300,000 apps huge. I’ve watched this monster start from nothing and turn into a billion-dollar industry in only a few short years. We’ve been approaching this point for some time now, but it’s more apparent than ever that app exposure is of critical importance. A healthy majority of iOS app users discover new applications directly from their device as opposed to using iTunes. If you look specifically at the iPhone, the amount of real estate for discovery is only available to a very small percentage of the total apps.
There are currently 20 overall categories, with Games offering an additional 20 subcategories. Each subcategory is broken into three lists and displays a max of 100 apps on the iPhone. Throw in a small number from the Top 25 and Featured lists and you wind up with roughly 12,000 apps being shown at one time. This works out to only about 4% of all apps that receive visibility. One can browse beyond this number on iTunes, but that quickly becomes an overwhelming, laborious task.

Google Chrome10

A version number that changes every now about 6 weeks and no longer means anything, even if it offers a small smile when we see that the firm of Mountain View is worth noting that this is exactly the version 10.0.612.1 [dev 10.0 - 33.2 MB - Mac OS X 10.5].

Nexus S is a Weak Phone

Just came across a review posted by Business Insider in which they share their experience of using Nexus S. The final verdict was not that good as you would have sensed from the title of the post. And based on the reasons they gave plus my own take on the phone, I don’t blame them for terming the Gingerbread flagship phone as a weak phone.
Business Insider aren’t impressed by the hardware that Nexus S possesses and had this to say:

LG Optimus 2X is now on pre order in Sweden

LG Optimus 2X Star has been already listed at the Scandinavian online retailer CDON.com today. Priced at 4999 KR without a contract (the equivalent of $730 USD), there is no delivery date specified. Subsidized pricing drops the cost to 3099 KR ($453.16 USD). The Optimus 2X, formerly known as the Star, is the first phone in the world that’s powered by a dual-core processor — the system-on-a-chip Tegra 2 by Nvidia. Although it would arrive on shelves with Froyo on board, the LG Optimus 2X is expected to receive an update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread soon after launch.

Nokia Phone Windows 7 could adopt in 2011

iPhone 4 ago  white or  white iPhone 4, Verizon, and there is Windows 7 Phone Nokia: things not necessarily improbable, but who are in the rumor stage long enough that eventually grow weary . Eldar from Mobile Review Murtazin delivers just a layer on the rumor is that the Finnish manufacturer will eventually adopt Phone Windows 7 instead of Symbian.
Although world number 1, Nokia loses market share slowly but mainly lost in image and emerged as a colossus with feet of clay. The firm now uses Espoo both OS, Symbian and MeeGo.
So far available for free with a open-source license, Symbian has been taken over by Nokia. It is the mobile operating system the most widely used (37% market share), but it is not much used by Nokia, its various support has gradually turned to Android. MeeGo is projected to be used on high-end Nokia, as successor to Maemo.

Nexus One gets a rooted Gingerbread build with functional apps

Yesterday, we shared with you the news of Nexus One getting a Gingerbread port. If you recall that post completely, the AOSP based Gingerbread port was in its early or should I say basic stage, as it didn’t have functional apps and required you to have hboot verison 35.0017. Well, thinks have just gotten better thanks to XDA Developer MicroMod777, who has posted a Gingerbread AOSP build that is rooted, has the Google Apps and doesn’t have any hboot version requirement.
Here’s the description of the ROM:
