BlackBerry Bold 9780 review on Electricpig: “Let’s start by stressing that we love the BlackBerry Bold 9700. Really love it. We’ve probably used one more than any other phone for the last year, simply because its keyboard is so good. Of course, we know that compared to the iPhone and latest Android – and even Palm – devices, it’s under powered and crippled by a creaky operating system. So can an upgrade to BlackBerry 6 and a slight tinker under the bonnet be enough even to play catch up? Let’s find out.

BlackBerry Bold 9780 coming soon to AT&T?

The new BlackBerry Bold 9780 seems to be making its way to AT&T. The first video of an AT&T-badged 9780 has surfaced, so it will hit the streets with AT&T in a short matter of time with all the talk about it from AT&T store reps. The BlackBerry Bold 9780 is a refresh of the Bold 9700 with more RAM, a better camera and the highly anticipated BlackBerry OS 6. The seller of the unlocked AT&T BlackBerry Bold 9780 claims that the company won’t officially start carrying the handset until 2011.
Blackberry Bold 9780 is powered by a 624 MHz processor and runs on Blackberry 6.0 platform. It comes with a 2.44-inch TFT with 65K colors support, 480 x 360 pixels resolution and touch-sensitive optical trackpad. In addition to its full QWERTY keyboard, Bold 9780 embeds 256 MB internal memory, 512 MB RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB card included).

As expected, T-Mobile has launched the BlackBerry Bold 9780 for $109.99 on a two-year contract.These are the first guys in the U.S. to actually start selling the refreshed Bold, but we can expect AT&T to launch theirs shortly too. Telus and Bell are already selling the 9780 up here in Canada, but Rogers seems to be having some trouble getting theirs out the door.
