The Samsung Nexus S will be available to buy at Best Buy stores and online from December 16th onwards. The retailer has now detailed how exactly the launch will be handled and what customers can expect in terms of availability and pricing. Online sales will start at 8AM Eastern Time, while all Best Buy retail stores will sell the Nexus S starting 8AM local time on a first-come, first-served basis. Sales will be limited to 2 handsets per customer.
Nexus S is the lead device for the Gingerbread/Android 2.3 release; it’s the first Android device to ship with the new version of the Android platform. The Nexus S will cost $199 with a T-Mobile two-year service agreement and qualifying voice and data plan, $249.99 for add-a-line activations or $529 without a contract. Another thing to note, is that the Nexus S is not available for pre-order. Best Buy must have worked their stocks off to get this exclusive deal on arguably the most anticipated handset after the iPhone 4.
