iOS 4.3 Jailbreak and Unlock Details

Since Apple has released iOS 4.3 Beta few days back, everyone in the jailbreaking community started asking about the next jailbreak and unlock for the new iOS firmware.

Will there be any jailbreak for iOS 4.3? Can we unlock iPhone devices in the next firmware update? If you have these kinds of questions in your mind, read the following details to know more about iOS 4.3 jailbreak and unlock.

iOS 4.3 Jailbreak and Unlock Details

Redsn0w 0.9.7 – Comex, the iPhone jailbreak developer, is working on a new untethered solution for his jailbreak tool. As per the latest update from him, he doesn’t want to wait till final version of iOS 4.3 comes out. So, he might handover his untethered jailbreak code to iPhone Dev team, which can be utilized in Redsn0w 0.9.7 jailbreak tool.
Status – Quite possible.
GreenPois0n – Chronic Dev team also reportedly have untethered solution for iOS 4.2.1 and iOS 4.3 jailbreak, but we haven’t heard anything from them yet. In recent Twitter conversation among hackers and developers, Musclenerd has claimed that Chronic Dev team members are actually waiting for Comex to release his code, so that they can use it in GreenPois0n tool.

Status – Not sure. Tethered possible.
Other Jailbreak Tools – We can’t really speculate about other jailbreaking tools for iOS 4.3. Most of them are apparently relying on Comex’s untethered solution. Even GeoHot is dealing with PS3 jailbreak legal issues, so we don’t think he will come up with any iOS 4.3 jailbreak tool at this moment.
Status – N/A

iOS 4.3 Unlock

Apple will take at least one month to test and release iOS 4.3 for end users. This means that we won’t receive any unlock for iPhones, as Apple team can fix the holes used in unlock techniques in this beta testing period.
However, good news is that iPhone Dev Team member, Musclenerd, has confirmed iPhone unlock after iOS 4.2.5/iOS 4.3.
Status – Work in progress!
That’s it for now! We will update this post as soon as we receive more information, so do subscribe it for future reference.
