As we had reported on last Saturday, MuscleNerd has now released the updated Redsn0w 0.9.9b1 tool for the iOS 5 jailbreakers. Today’s Redsn0w update doesn’t bring any new untethered jailbreak to the iDevices, but still it is a major update for those who have been using this tool for last few years. Credit card business [Citibank]

In the 1960s the bank entered into the credit card business. In 1965, First National City Bank bought Carte Blanche from Hilton Hotels. However after three years, the bank (under pressure from the U.S. government) was forced to sell this division. By 1968, the company created its own credit card. The card, known as "The Everything Card", was promoted as a kind of East Coast version of the BankAmericard. By 1969, First National City Bank decided that the Everything Card was too costly to promote as an independent brand and joined Master Charge (now MasterCard). Citibank unsuccessfully tried again in 1977–1987 to create a separate credit card brand, the Choice Card.

John S. Reed was selected CEO in 1984, and Citi became a founding member of the CHAPS clearing house in London. Under his leadership, the next 14 years would see Citibank become the largest bank in the United States, the largest issuer of credit cards and charge cards in the world, and expand its global reach to over 90 countries.

HTC Beat and HTC Rhyme in flight (photos and specs)

Two leaks on the side of manufacturer HTC have fallen. The first aircraft would be named the HTC Beat and embark Technology Beats Audio Sensation as XE and (potential) Runnymede.

The Beat should be equipped with a 1.2GHz dual core processor, a 4.3 "LCD Super QHD

(960 x 540), 1GB of RAM and a 12 megapixel camera.

Here is a picture of the device on the run, as usual in the case of a leak take information with a grain of salt. Note that really looks like a sensation.

iPhone 4 is again the thinnest smartphone in the world?

If you follow the news high tech in recent months, you must have heard different between Apple and Samsung.

Periodically, complaints are filed by the two entities usually stories about patents, up to block the marketing of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in some countries (called Samsung).

This is a problem. 4 When the iPhone was made official, Apple proudly announced on its fineness, setting it willingly as the thinnest smartphone in the world. Subsequently, Samsung has launched the Galaxy S 2 which has been designated as replacing the iPhone 4 to the position of the thinnest smartphone with 8.71mm thick at its most graceful.

Dealing with no internet broadband for 4 weeks. Mobile solutions to the rescue.

When I moved back to Manchester, I had expected that at least during the commute, I would not have any internet. Little did I know that due to a problem with Virgin Media and BT, we apparently won’t be having internet for a ridiculous 4 weeks. This is going to make things difficult. I need internet, and FAST internet to blog, watch/upload videos, do research and Uni work (accessing lots of cloud files), keep in touch with folks over skype video etc.

So, going 4 weeks without internet at home would be unacceptable and since nothing can be done on BT/Virgin Media’s side, I put together some alternatives for the house:

Android Ice-Cream Sandwich Coming Late October. OMAP 4 Devices to Get It First?

Remember Notion Ink? Well their CEO, Rhan Shravan, says that Android Ice-Cream Sandwich is coming out late October, and we should probably believe him, because he’s the one who also told us about Gingerbread a few days before it launched last year. He casually mentions this in one of his blog posts, saying ICS will come out late October, and their Adam tablet will get the update in November.

Now, their Adam tablet is based on Tegra 2, but he confirms that ICS’ chip of choice will be the OMAP 4, but that either means there will be an update for Tegra 2 and Kal-EL devices later, or it should already work on Tegra 2 devices at least, since it’s supposed to be based on the Honeycomb code, and all Honeycomb devices already have the drivers for Tegra 2.

Google Introduces Google Wallet – George Costanza Is Their First Customer

Google introduced the world to their new mobile payment service for smartphones aptly named, Google Wallet. While the service isn’t officially live just yet, you can hit up Google.com/wallet to signup and get notified as soon as it is. Currently, there is only one phone in the US that is actually NFC enabled to take advantage of their new service and I’d imagine Google is waiting for the release of some new NFC chipped devices before going live. In case you were wondering what kind of person would benefit from Google Wallet, well — Google already has their first customer and supplied the video below.
