Just now, we told you about the iPhone Dev Team finally getting an untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1. In the very same post, we shared with you the thought of iOS 4.2.1 untethered jailbreak being a developing story. So I thought why not write a post which will serve as the point of reference for the various questions you have and also where you can be rest assured of getting all the updates as they come.
- The method under the spotlight is a backup plan as called by MuscleNerd. Preference is being given to the untethered exploit comex is working since it is expandable as indicated by the iPhone Dev Team member.
- To get the untethered jailbreak, you need to have iOS 4.2b3 hashes on Cydia.
- The method was discovered using an existing hole and no new exploits were burned which means iOS 4.3 jailbreak future is bright .
Supports all iOS 4.2.1 enabled iDevices which includes:
- iPhone 4
- iPhone 3GS
- iPhone 3G
- iPod Touch 4G
- iPod Touch 3G
- iPod Touch 2G
- Apple TV 2G
Currently there is no ETA for the jailbreak. But when it does, you will get it right here.
