The Android smartphone got some deep love from their home market – South Korea. The smartphone manufacturers saw an impressive sale of 2 million handsets compared to 1.8 million iPhones sold since the series debuted in November 2009.

That’s what I call a quick change of plan. Last time, Samsung was queried for its Gingerbread update plans for Samsung Galaxy S, they gave a reply which sort of gave the impression that the high selling Android phone may not get the Android 2.3 update. But that’s a thing of the past as Samsung India has announced via their Twitter account that Galaxy S will be getting the Gingerbread update. The story gets even more interesting as you will see in the next paragraph.
