Nexus One getting Gingerbread in few weeks time

When Google announced Gingerbread, Nexus One users would have been anticipating Android 2.3 update for their handset. Engadget and other blogs reported of the Android update hitting the Nexus handsets which were not correct. This prompted Reto Meier, an Android Developer Advocate at Google to clarify the whole situation.

Here’s how he cleared up the confusion surrounding the Android 2.3 update for Nexus One:

Not Sure where Engadget is getting their reports. The Nexus One OTA isn’t happening just yet – should be coming in  a  few weeks.
So there you have it – Android 2.3 update will be rolled out over-the-air in few weeks time.
