Nimbuzz 3.0.1 for Nokia Symbian^3 devices brings up to 70% reduction in data consumption

In November last year we saw Nimbuzz bring out the world acclaimed app for mobiles, to Symbian^3 devices. Now Nimbuzz have released an update recently – Nimbuzz 3.0.1 – which brings a number of improvements to it’s user, but mainly the fact that with this new version, one will be consuming a lot less data traffic on that mobile plan of yours.
It seems that the development team at Nimbuzz have enabled a new way to compress the data packages using zlib encoding, and according to them, will reduce your data consumption, when using Nimbuzz, buy 50%, and depending on how you use the app could reach an amazing 70% saving.

Other improvements include:
- Your login speed will be faster.
- Invisible mode – so you can appear invisible to your Nimbuzz contacts.
- Allow chats only from friends – so you won’t be bothered by people that are not on your list.
- Updated status icons – for Online, Away, Busy and Offline modes.
Here is how to activate the new options:
To appear invisible to your Nimbuzz friends you need to click on your profile (top of the contact list), then on your status (usually it’s online) and choose Invisible.
To allow chats only from your Nimbuzz contacts go to: Options > Settings > Nimbuzz account > Allow chats from: Contacts only.
