How to Transfer Your SMS / Contacts from a Symbian Mobile to an Android

We’ll talk to you today a special application just unveiled yesterday by SPB Software. SPB had a flair since seeing the exodus of many mobile users Symbian to Android, they decided to propose an application facilitating the maximum change mobile.
It’s true, when moving from a Nokia to a Nokia is the excellent tool for transfer via Bluetooth. When changing iPhone, iTunes does the job and is recovered contacts, applications and media after an iTunes sync. On the Blackberry desktop manager is terrible when changing mobile. Only when we change to a different OS in a mobile things get complicated in general …
How to recover my contacts if I do not use Outlook or Exchange? Get my SMS? my call history or my web shortcuts? That’s exactly what you offers with its SPB Migration Tool.

How Does It Work ?
The tool consists of two applications: one to install on the source device (the former) and the other on the target device (the new) Android so.
There are two ways to transfer data: by copying them to MicroSD card or using a web service. In this case your data is sent to the servers of SPB.
Everything is explained and going from the site: http://www.migratetoandroid.com/ (nice domain name by the way).

What Data is Transferred ?
The application will allow you to transfer the following data:
  • Contacts
  • Call Log
  • SMS
  • Internet shortcuts
Is it Secure ?
Yes. When using the method of transfer by memory card no particular safety problem. But for migration via the Internet once you receive against the data copied, an authentication code. This code will be necessary to recover data from your Android phone.
Data is stored on the publisher’s website and deleted after 12 days.
How Much ?
The tool is not free and can be purchased on the Android Market. The price is reasonable ($ 9.95) I think in terms of service (which was not bored one day to retrieve a contact or SMS)?
In any case I find the idea good, I’ll try to test it soon if you’re interested (I hope not because that would mean that you leave for Android Symbian) .
